This seminar, also known as Partner in Command, introduces boating to crew members who need basic information and who may or may not have taken a prior boating course. It is designed to provide essential information required to assist a skipper in the safe operation of a recreational boat and includes actions to take in response to emergencies. This is a unique opportunity to learn while actually sitting on a squadron members boat and to experience boating while taking the class on the water with live demonstrations and observed practice. The student kit includes the student notes booklet. The class will be conducted weather permitting.


What you will learn:

You’ll gain confidence about basic boat operations, specifically:

·        Understanding a typical boat helm

·        Starting and stopping engines

·        Steering a boat

·        Required safety equipment

·        Use of marine radio and calling for help

·        Basic navigation


Time of seminar will be a mutually agreed time with Instructor.
