You're not Co-dependent: A New Approach to Empowering Families in Addiction

“I don’t know what to do!” is one of the most frequently heard comments by family members with a loved one in addiction. For many therapists, counselors, and peers, their only advice is Al-anon, yet it's not designed to teach active tools to family members that can motivate change in the substance user. This workshop will explore the benefits of the Invitation to Change model, an approach based on evidenced-based therapies, combined with kindness and emphasis on self-care. Learn a novel way to understand addiction, gain specific tools to use with a loved one, and several skills for self-care.
