| The Family Court Professional Coalition was first founded in 2000 by Dr. Debra Carter and Judge Scott Brownell under the name Family Court Professional Collaborative as a grassroots organization to provide a forum for communication, collaboration, and education and innovation among the professionals in the 12th Judicial Circuit. In 2020, due to the collaborative practice becoming more prevalent, the group was often confused with collaborative law groups. Our mission is to "Use the multi-disciplinary resources of the legal, accounting and mental health professions to research, develop, and propose innovative programs and procedures which will facilitate the peaceful disposition of volatile legal issues, enhance the reliability of in-court expert testimony, and minimize the trauma of litigation on the family."
In 2013, FCPC merge with the Family Law Advisory Group (FLAG) to create on organization dedicated to supporting the goals of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Family Court. We meet monthly with the Judiciary and Court personnel to discuss ideas and develop innovative approaches to the complex issues of Family Law so that the Twelfth Judicial Circuit can better assist families through the legal process. |
