We will be offering 3 tracks- one for AP's, one on Strengthening/Engaging Families and one for Executives. **Please Note: AP Workshops have reached capacity and are sold out. There is still room in the Executive and Strengthening Families Workshops.**


This Statewide Meeting will be very interactive and bring our field together to share insights and experiences, explore ideas, shape policy, and discuss best practices.

This session will be a sharing of the trends, opportunities and challenges being seen nationally by Linda Smith, Bipartisan Policy Center.  Following her presentation, there will be a Q&A session and dialogue to consider.

AP Workshop #2 -SOLD OUT!

Program Self-Evaluation

During this workshop, DSS staff will discuss the requirements for the Program Self-Evaluation process for child care and development contractors. Guidance will be provided on the submission requirements for the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Program Self Evaluation (PSE) as well as all of the required documents to be maintained onsite by contract type.


During the last portion of this training there will be a guided feedback session on the Program Integrity Monitoring Tool. Proposed discussion areas:

  • Items and/or evidence requests from the monitoring tool that programs would like additional clarification or training on.
  • Adjustments to the language used in the monitoring tool items while remaining aligned with regulations.
  • Appendix A (Written Information for Families and Providers)
  • General feedback on the tool or monitoring process.


Strengthening/Engaging Families #2

HOPE (HEALTHY OUTCOMES FROM POSITIVE EXPERIENCES) 

YMCA Childcare Resource Service

Positive experiences can ease toxic stress and help children grow into more resilient, healthier adults. HOPE identifies ways that we can ensure that all children have more positive experiences, and that all families have support to nurture and celebrate their strengths. During this workshop we will:

  • Categorize types of responses into Type 1 vs Type 2 thinking 
  • List 3 categories of adverse childhood experiences
  • Identify how PCEs (Positive Childhood Experiences) can impact long term health 
  • List the 4 Building Blocks of HOPE that promote Positive Childhood Experiences
