| In the Red Dot Pistol Transition course, students will be introduced and trained how to properly employ a Red Dot Sight (RDS) on a duty pistol. This skill will be of great value to the individual officer and employing agency by improving speed of sight acquisition and target accuracy. Students will learn the proper maintenance and care of setting up and maintaining the RDS on their duty pistol, finding the dot on presentation of pistol, low light shooting with RDS, marksmanship, and movement drills with RDS.
The lead instructors are active SWAT team members and certified RDS instructors. This course is open to law enforcement officers only. All students must provide a photocopy of their police identification on the first day of the course. The first day of the course will be held from 8:00am-5:00pm. The second day will be held from 1:00pm-10:00pm.
Students MUST bring the following:
- Minimum 800 rounds of ammunition
- 3 magazines
- Pistol with red dot
- Duty belt
- Eye and Ear protection
