Community Science in Action: Exploring Nature with iNaturalist

Join PPAN to discover how community science supports biodiversity and pollinators. PPAN Board Member and DU professor Julie Morris will provide some advice on how to use iNaturalist, a free app that empowers anyone to observe, document, and contribute to biodiversity research.

Julie will also share stories from her classes on how students have used iNaturalist to learn more about their local environments. This session will give you practical tools to get started and ideas for engaging in community science in your own work or backyard.

Join the Big Day of Bugs iNaturalist Project!

June is Colorado Pollinator Month! Since 2017, PPAN has worked with Governors Hickenlooper and Polis to designate June as Colorado Pollinator Month. To celebrate, we're hosting the Big Day of Bugs with the Colorado Pollinator Network on June 27th at Denver Botanic Gardens to learn more about the importance of pollinators and what you can do to support pollinator habitats, health, and biodiversity. Get tickets here!

As a part of Colorado Pollinator Month and the Big Day of Bugs, we're encouraging folks to collect observations of pollinators and the plants that they visit within Colorado, USA through the month of June via iNaturalist.
