Watercolor batik is the use of alternating layers of watercolor and hot wax on special Japanese rice paper, with the final step of ironing off the wax to reveal the finished painting. The technique creates unique textures and an old-world look to capture the viewer’s eye.
Students should have some experience with watercolor.
