Required for attendance:

To help make the most of each discussion, attendees must be residents of the Township of Lake of Bays and are encouraged to bring:

·      their property address or roll number,

·      a site sketch showing existing structures, lot lines, dimensions, setbacks, shoreline information, where applicable,

·      and details of the proposed work.

The Township of Lake of Bays is introducing a new pilot drop-in event designed to help property owners and business owners better understand the planning and building process before moving forward with their project.

The event is as a free three-hour drop-in session where community members can meet one-on-one with Township Planning, Building, and Economic Development staff to discuss development ideas, ask questions, and receive preliminary guidance on potential next steps.

No appointment is required. Participants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis so it is recommended that participants reserve their spot to guarantee availability.

The event is intended to provide accessible, face-to-face support for residents and business owners considering projects such as new construction, renovations, property improvements, or business development opportunities. Staff will be available to answer general questions about planning, zoning, building permit requirements, and related processes.

Staff comments provided during the event will be preliminary in nature and are intended for information purposes only. Discussions will not replace a formal application review process, permit requirements, or any approvals that may be required.

The Township is hosting the pilot event as part of its ongoing efforts to make development services more accessible and to support informed decision-making while protecting the character and natural environment of Lake of Bays.
