The Memphis Brownfield Coalition Summit is an intensive, collaborative one-day event held as part of the ongoing quarterly Brownfield Coalition Series. Bringing together major regional economic, environmental, and community development powerhouses, this summit highlights past milestones, assesses current local initiatives, and maps out the future of brownfield redevelopment across Memphis and Shelby County as well as the wider Mid-South Development District.

Morning Session (Community Vision & Milestones): 

Focuses on the phenomenal redevelopment work achieved by the Memphis CRA and its coalition partners. Features exclusive highlights from the NJIT TAB Brownfield Ambassador program, showcasing the community visioning concepts developed by the Yale Urban Design Workshop summer student cohort. This session includes hands-on, interactive activities to engage participants directly in the vision-to-reality pipeline.

Afternoon Session (Capital & Tools): 

Shifts focus toward practical execution, explicitly deep-diving into Financing Tools for Brownfield Redevelopers to empower local stakeholders, developers, and municipalities with actionable funding mechanisms. Also plan to have a hands-on, interactive activity to build a funding resources guidebook.
