ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Ellen Pruden, Director of Communications, Cereals Canada

Ellen's enthusiasm for agriculture has her constantly sharing why her community should buy Canadian ingredients and support farmers. She was recognized by Dietitians of Canada as Honorary Recipient for her work that she does in creating learning opportunities for dietitians, and she has appeared on the Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitoban’s List for her work advocating for farmers, her love of fishing and cooking, and being an all-around great woman. Ellen graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg, and prior to joining Cereals Canada, Ellen worked in the canola industry as the director for Canola Eat Well.

Doug Darling, Founder and Executive Creative Director, Tripwire Media

Doug’s friends make fun of him for how much he talks about story – and he really doesn’t mind – because it’s true! As the founder of a video agency that specializes in storytelling, Tripwire Media Group, Doug has grown his skillset in the art and science of story and teaching others how to harness it’s useful power. From coaching classes of students across the world, to training companies on the Science of Storytelling, to embarking on a new journey in securing Legacy stories for those we love most – Doug truly has a passion for storytelling and what it can do for people and organizations. He can’t wait to help tell yours.

Jenn Dyck, Market Development Director, Hello Canola

Jenn has worked on behalf of farmers for over 20 years and is the Market Development Director for Manitoba Canola Growers Association and co-leads the National Canola Marketing Program, Hello Canola, a consumer campaign brand for Canadians, that is funded by Alberta Canola, SaskCanola and Manitoba Canola Growers. While living in a city, working for canola farmers allows Jennifer to stay connected to her Prairie roots and regularly learn first-hand from the farmers growing ingredients for our everyday lives. She takes pride in learning together and enjoys the complexity of working with multi-faceted stakeholders to accomplish a common goal.
