2023 Virginia Assessment Group & Virginia Regional Accreditation Symposium Annual Conference

The theme pushes us to explore, reflect, and connect our work to the goals, outcomes, objectives, and visions of higher education. In alignment with the theme, the VAG/VRAS Conference Planning Committee seeks to create a conference experience focused on reflecting on how assessment and accreditation tie into the mission and vision of the institution, student learning and program outcomes, continuous improvement, and accreditation standards.

The 2023 conference keynote, poster sessions, and interactive concurrent sessions and panels will emphasize the following tracks:

  • Using assessment and accreditation to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, and student success
  • (Re)imagining and advancing assessment practices with today’s students in mind
  • Connecting and Collaborating to Advance Common Goal
  • DEI, QEP, and Strategic Planning Considerations in Accreditation

Keynote Speakers:

  • Joseph Levy, Ed.D., Associate Vice Provost of Accreditation and Quality Improvement at Excelsior University, Board Member and Faculty for the Student Affairs Assessment Leaders (SAAL) and Online Open Course, and endorsed speaker for the National Institute of Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA).
  • Anne Holton, J.D., Professor of Public Policy and Education at George Mason University, former Interim President of George Mason University, and former Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
