DESCRIPTION:This 2 day virtual program includes some general updates of diabetes and the impact of the disease on the feet and lower extremities.\n\nAccording to Diabetes Canada\, following a lower-limb amputation\, people with diabetes not only suffer the clinical and psychological consequences of limb loss\, but also have a five-year mortality rate of 50%.\n\n“If it’s predictable\, it’s preventable!”\n\nVarious risk assessment tools will be discussed.  The role of the nurse in comprehensive footcare assessment\, ulcer prevention\, footcare management and health teaching will be emphasized.
