2026 Great Willamette Cleanup – Corvallis: Crystal Lake to Michaels Landing (On Water)

On October 10th, volunteers across Oregon will unite for the Great Willamette Cleanup, with sites stretching from the river’s headwaters to its confluence with the Columbia. Pick the spot closest to your heart and Get Dirty for Good alongside neighbors, families, and fellow river lovers. Every bag of trash collected and every shoreline restored adds to a healthier, more resilient Willamette River.

Event Basics: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and the City of Corvallis Parks team for a paddling cleanup effort from Crystal Lake to Michael's Landing, including the area within the Marys River confluence. We will collect trash from both the waterway and the adjacent riverbanks. Seats are available in both rafts and inflatable kayaks, and volunteers are also welcome to bring their own boats!

After the cleanup, we hope that you'll join us for a volunteer appreciation party at 1:30pm in Corvallis (location TBD) featuring drinks, light food, and a free raffle for all volunteers.

When & Where: Saturday, October 10th, 2026 | 9AM - 12:30PM

Please meet at the Crystal Lake Boat Ramp, located at 100 SE Fischer Lane, Corvallis, OR 97333. We will unload boats and gear, run through a safety briefing, and organize a self-shuttle of vehicles to the takeout. If you are running late to the meetup location, please call or text event coordinator Luke Stuntz (617-834-8727). We will aim to get on the water by 9:30AM, but initial setup can take a little while as we shuttle vehicles.

What to Bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you are comfortable getting dirty and wet.
  • Sunscreen, drinking water, and layers that are appropriate for the weather.

Additional Details:

  • Willamette Riverkeeper will provide all necessary cleanup equipment (trash bags, gloves, grabbers, etc.) and Personal Floatation Devices (life jackets) for this event. PFDs are required and must be worn at all times.
  • No paddling or cleanup experience is necessary to participate in this event. Rafts will be operated by experienced Willamette Riverkeeper cleanup leaders. We will conduct a thorough safety briefing prior to getting out on the water and distributing cleanup supplies.
  • Children (ages 10+) are welcome to participate in this event, given that they are accompanied by a parent/guardian who is authorized to sign their participation waiver.
  • Public restrooms are available at both Crystal Lake Boat Ramp and Michael's Landing.
