Here’s What’s Included! 

What’s included: 

9 nights’ accommodation in conveniently located, independently owned 3 and 4-star hotels. 

9 buffet breakfasts at the hotels 

1st Class Swiss Rail Travel Pass (8 consecutive days) that will provide all rail travel in Switzerland. 

2 Day Zermatt Peak Pass Includes both the Gornergrat Railway and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable cars.

2 Group luggage transfers: Grindelwald to Zermatt and Zermatt to Chamonix. 

Shuttle from Chamonix to Geneva

Discounted Mountain excursions: Many excursions such as the Gondola up to the Grindelwald First Mountain are discounted 50%. 

Most museums are also free or discounted with this rail pass.

Mountain excursions are not usually included: BUT since a group dinner that were originally planned is not happening (our last “Group Dinner” had uninspired food from a limited menu - kind of like at a wedding), Joe and Diane are paying for the Grindelwald First mountain excursion as a thank you to the group!

Travel Insurance 

We highly recommend that everyone add travel insurance to protect their investments in any trip. Diane and I personally purchase our travel insurance at www.aardy.com, which is an insurance conglomerator that looks for the best deals.

Day 1 • Sept 9

Arrive in Zurich airport, Joe & Diane will arrange a meeting place in the airport train station for our train to Grindelwald. For those coming in early, (as Joe & Diane are doing) we will discuss options for meeting.

Day 2 & 3 • Sep 10-11 

Full days in Grindelwald! We will explore this beautiful town and the surrounding mountains. This will include a day taking the gondolas up to the top of Grindelwald First Mountain, a train excursion to visit nearby Lauterbrunnen and more. 

Day 4 • Sep-12

After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, We take the train from Grindelwald to Zermatt - home of the Matterhorn. We will settle in and have the afternoon to explore around the town

Day 5 & 6 • Sep 13-14

These two days will focus on exploring the mountains around Zermatt. We will take the Gornergrat Railway to the best viewing spot for amazing Matterhorn views, and for those interested, we can hike down to visit some of the amazing lakes with Matterhorn reflections. We will also take a series of Gondolas up to the top of The Matterhorn Paradise - a high altitude glacier with more stunning views.

Day 7 • Sep-15

Today after breakfast, we take the train from Zermatt to Chamonix, France (4 hours). We’ll explore the town this afternoon.

Day 8 • Sep-16 

As the home of Mt. Blanc, europe's highest peak, we will offer a mountain excursion to Aiguille do Midi, Mer de Glace, or Brévent !

Day 9 • Sep-17

After checking out of our hotel this morning, we take a shuttle to Geneva, Switzerland. We will consult with the group to see who might be up for a special tour.

Day 10 • Sep-18

Our onward departures, or consider extending your trip. We can help with arrangements!

We can accept up to 9 couples or a combination of couples and singles. Once the trip is full and we have to pay our Tour Operator, there are no refunds, so please make sure to purchase trip insurance.
