Michelle's Garden Garden One

Step Into a Little Wild Oasis on Signal Mountain.

Come wander Michelle’s one‑acre garden, a living sanctuary where bluebirds nest, honey bees hum, and ten varieties of figs grow alongside raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and an organic veggie garden and green house. Explore the new pond with its natural bog filter, a dry riverbed planted with natives, tiny watering holes full of tadpoles, and a prairie‑style front yard buzzing with clover. Overhead, a screech owl house and bat haven wait for their nighttime guests.

Every visitor who RSVPs will take home a free succulent.

Enjoy homemade lemongrass or spearmint tea, plus home-made sourdough with home grown and made chokecherry jam.

Sherri's Garden Garden Two

My husband and I purchased a 1.2 acre heavily wooded lot to build our home in 2016. We were able to retain a large section of undisturbed woods where we added nature paths to enjoy the native azaleas and oak trees. But we envisioned our backyard area as a perennial planting space, which at the time was a post construction, barren 4500 sq. ft. area.

It took several years, but we now have terraced planting areas containing many varieties of perennial plants and shrubs, a recirculating pond less waterfall/stream feature, with pea gravel/mulch paths to wander through. The transition process has been a labor of love with my husband and I doing all of the designing, building, installing and planting. With Wild Ones (since 2020), I have learned the importance of native plants and am slowly replacing non-native items that I initially started with.

My perennial garden now encompasses our entire backyard. We just removed the last section of grass in the fall. That means I have some new space where I need your advice designing and planting!
