Fentanyl Awareness and Naloxone Training

This is a collaboration between OCDHS and the Orange County Health Care Agency
This workshop educates individuals regarding the dangers of fentanyl and provide training on how to administer Naloxone. Naloxone is the life saving medication that can reverse an overdose. With the epidemic of fentanyl going around, it is crucial each health professional, student, or any individual who is in contact with people or patients are educated on this topic.

MEET THE SPEAKER: Della Lisi Kerr is a health educator with the Substance Use Disorder (SUD)division of the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA). Della has 14 years’ experience providing information on the pharmaceutical and opioid issue.

Her prevention work has been recognized by the Orange County Substance Abuse Prevention Network, receiving the 2016 Linda Kearns Community Prevention Award, as well as receiving the 2017 Irvine Prevention Coalition, Outstanding Supporter of Prevention Award.

She has been a featured speaker with the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, Hoag Orthopedic Institute Conference, National Alliance on Mental Illness OC, and the Mental Health Associations: Meeting of the Minds 2019 and 2023.

Her workshops to education professionals, school administrators and community-based organizations about the illicit fentanyl issue, opioid overdose recognition and providing naloxone training has reached hundreds in Orange County.
