Certification Upon completion of the training, eligible participants are permitted to test for Certification. The Certified Coercive Control Specialist Certification confirms that participants have completed specialized training in the recognition, assessment, and intervention of coercive control in clinical and legal settings. As the Founder and Executive Director of Beautifuldreamers.org, she brings a wealth of expertise as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, licensed both in the US Virgin Islands and the state of Georgia, and as a National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC).
Dr. Paul-Constantin's formidable academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's in Student Personnel Administration and Counseling, a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master's in Special Education, an Educational Specialist degree (EdS), and a PhD in Specialized Education. She currently serves as the Chair of the United States Virgin Islands Board of Licensed Counselors and Examiners.
With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Dr. Paul-Constantin's work transcends conventional teaching methodologies. Her dedication to fostering an inclusive learning environment is evident through her work with Beautiful Dreamers (a non-profit organization), where she has been instrumental since July 2015. At Beautiful Dreams, she not only administers educational assessments but also provides invaluable training, consultation, and support for educators working with Haitian communities in the Virgin Islands.
Dr. Paul-Constantin's specialty lies in her cultural and social acumen, particularly with diverse ethnic groups such as Rastafarians and French Creole-speaking Haitians. Her fluency in French and French Creole (Haitian and Lucian) complements her extensive experience administering psychological assessments, such as the Woodcock-Johnson, WIAT, and K-TEA. A proud lifelong resident of Northern California, Gina attended Ripon schools in her early years and received her Bachelor's degree from Stanislaus State in 2001. While her area of study was economics, her focus within the major was consumer behaviors. Gina has always been fascinated by human behavior which has led her to her true passion of helping families and children achieve peace in this crazy chaotic world. Gina spent many years in sales and marketing positions before transitioning into mental health in 2016. Gina is not a licensed therapist however she does have mental health certifications and many hours volunteering and training. Experiential expertise is what makes her coaching so special. Gina has experience and training with issues of family violence, custody issues, family courts, and supervised visitation. Gina lives in Ripon, California, with her two teenage daughters and 3 cats. |

Content Area: Intermediate - Participants should have foundational knowledge and experience in areas relevant to coercive control, including family dynamics, domestic violence and intimate partner violence (DV/IPV), assertiveness training, and trauma-informed care. While direct experience in these areas is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended, as the program builds on these competencies to prepare participants for specialized work in addressing and mitigating coercive control in interpersonal and family relationships.

Course Completion and CE Information: To earn CE credit, participants must be on time, sign in and sign out, attend the entire course and complete a course evaluation. This is a 12 hour course. Partial credit is not permitted. Must be present the full 6 hours of both days to receive CE certificate. CE Certificates of Completion will be emailed within 5 business days of course completion.
CE Statements: Summit BHC, provider #2057, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 07/31/2024 - 07/31/2025. Social workers completing this course receive 12 clinical continuing education credits.
