Unfriendly to Liberty

Christopher F. Minty is an editor at the Center for Digital Editing at the University of Virginia. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Stirling. He is also an esteemed New York State Archives Hackman Research and Resident Alum and has received fellowships from the British Library, Harvard University, the Huntington Library, the New-York Historical Society, the New York State Library, and the William L. Clements Library at the University of Michigan, among others. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS) and lives in Williamsburg, Virginia.

He is the author of "Unfriendly to Liberty: Loyalist Networks and the Coming of the American Revolution in New York City."

Thomas J. Ruller retired from his position as New York State Archivist, a role he held since 2015. An active professional for 35 years, he is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles and reviews on the use of technology in Archives and the preservation of records in electronic form. Tom has been a consultant for several State governments and other organizations focusing on electronic records management and preservation. He remains actively engaged as a Board Member and Steward of the Archives Partnership Trust.
