SALTWATER MARSH TOUR

Our expert docents will lead you through the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve, where you’ll learn about its history and ecology. Enjoy all the special and unique native plants as you journey through different habitats. You might even meet some of the local wildlife.

Registration: Registration is required. You must also sign the digital waiver.


Arrive on time: Meet us in the dirt parking lot behind Gordon's Market / Alka Water. Please be sure to arrive on time, as the gate will be locked 5 minutes after the beginning of the event. The ecological reserve gates are locked during all Saltwater Marsh events, and late arrivals will find themselves locked out.

Ages: Activities are recommended for ages 7 and up. Youths 16 and under should be accompanied by an adult.


What to wear: Close-toed shoes are required! We recommend dressing in weather-appropriate layers, along with a hat. Long pants are also recommended to protect against occasional prickly plants.


What to bring: Bring a full water bottle to stay hydrated. There are no water fountains on site. Also, sunscreen, bug spray, and a snack if needed.


Covid-19 Protocols: We recommend that participants comply with applicable public health COVID-19 safety guidelines.



Cancellations: For safety, we must cancel if it’s raining. Please check the weather before arriving. If you’re not sure, please check our website or social media for cancellation announcements.
