We are excited to be hosting the CFA Society Winnipeg's 59th Annual Forecast Dinner and New Charterholder presentation at the RBC Convention Centre on April 11, 2024. The Annual Forecast Dinner is the premier event of the year for Winnipeg's investment community.

Please join us in welcoming Professor Janice Gross Stein, the Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto, as our keynote speaker. Janice will share her insights and engage in a candid discussion with respected financial journalist and our Master of Ceremonies, Amber Kanwar.

The event will begin with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres (including a cash bar) at the cocktail reception sponsored by Infinite Investment Systems from 5:00pm-6:00pm. The evening's formal events will begin at 6:00pm and will include hearing from our presenting speakers, introducing Winnipeg's newest CFA Charterholders and announcing the Forecaster of the Year awards.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Janice Gross Stein 

Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, University of Toronto

Few people have a better understanding of global issues than Professor Janice Gross Stein. Her dynamic presentations provide a unique perspective into what's really happening around the world — from China to Russia to the Middle East and Europe — and what it means to her audiences. 



Stein's presentations not only connect the dots regarding key events, but provide a look at where things are headed, and where the potential dangers and opportunities may lie. Both realistic and hopeful, she leaves her audiences with a better understanding of current global issues, and a clear, compelling vision of the future.


Stein is the Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management in the Department of Political Science and the Founding Director of the Munk School for Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, an Honorary Foreign Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the co-chair of the Advisory Committee on Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.


In the media, Stein has provided commentary for networks such as CBC, CTV, TVO, and CNN. She has also written columns and provided commentary for The Globe and Mail and The National Post. Stein is also the co-author of the prize-winning work, The Unexpected War: Canada in Kandahar, and the editor of the acclaimed essay collection, Diplomacy in the Digital Age.


Stein was the Massey Lecturer in 2001, and a Trudeau Fellow. She was awarded the Molson Prize by the Canada Council in recognition of her outstanding contribution to public debate as a social scientist, and has received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Alberta, the University of Cape Breton, McMaster University, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Stein is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario.
