University of Washington - Intellectual House

April 23, 2025

The 3Rs Collaborative and the New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research are delighted to announce that registration is open for the 2025 3Rs Sharing Conference. We’re excited to create a new era of professional conference, emphasizing both high-quality speakers and facilitated participant interactions and networking!

This year's conference will include a variety of 3Rs content with a focus on improving rigor and translatability in biomedical research through the robust incorporation of the 3Rs. We will explore opportunities for the robust incorporation of 3Rs in institutional research, as well as machine learning and non-animal technologies to advance rigor and translation. Presentations will address the use of current and emerging technologies to help guide future drug development strategy to advance next steps. In addition, the conference will discuss study design, animal methodology, and, as always, best practices to promote laboratory animal welfare for a variety of species.

Early registration rates close on March 23, 2025. Register today for the lowest rate.

Registration includes the cost of breakfast, ample snacks/coffee throughout the day, and lunch.

Check in at registration, grab some food, and connect with your exhibitors who provide critical 3Rs support.

*Note: exhibitors will receive access to the facility at 8am for setup.

9:00 am - Opening Remarks & Updates from 3RsC & NJABR

Megan LaFollette, 3RsC

9:10 am - Intellectual House Welcome

  • In this talk, we’ll hear from a local speaker from University of Washington about the venue we are in today including its indigenous culture and history. Indigenous respect for animals and connections to the 3Rs will also be made.

9:30 am - AI/ML methods for designing new biologics

Neil King, UW

  • In this talk, Neil King from University of Washington will discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques for developing new biologics (therapeutics and vaccines). These methods used early in biomedical research allow researchers to completely replace some animal projects, by reducing the number of candidate molecules that move into animal trials.
