Our next Genealogy Interest Group meeting will take place on

Thursday, October 8th, at 10:00 am.

--------------------------------

Our guest speaker will be Mitch Hemann, Archivist for Jacksonville's Ritz Theatre and Museum, who will share his work digitizing a collection of funeral records recently found in a safe at the former Hillman-Pratt and Walton Funeral Home, which is now the Raven Historic Boutique Aparthotel.

This valuable collection of black genealogical history includes the 1926 funeral record of Bessie Coleman, the first African-American woman to hold a pilot's license.
