DATE CHANGE Elementary Teachers: Cognitive Neuroscience and Montessori

This 2-session Zoom workshop offers an exploration of the fascinating ways that the neuroscience of learning affirms Dr. Montessori's Method. Enhance your own practice and help parents better understand how Montessori embraces modern educational best practices.
Registrants will attend both sessions, 1.5 hours each, now moved to September 14 and September 21, 2024. Time: 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. PDT.
Facilitator Betsy Lockhart is a 30-year Montessori veteran, having taught in the classroom and teacher training programs. Her lesson albums and classroom guides are in use on 6 continents.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will be able to describe the way that constructivist pedagogy differs from conventional pedagogies in common everyday language that speaks to a wide audience. They will be able to use analogies to explain basic cognitive neuroscience to peers or parents. Finally, having examined which of their own expectations and practices tend to work in concert with the way children’s brains work and which do not, they will be able to form an action plan for enhancing the effectiveness of their practice.

Refund Policy: Cancellations by registrant must be received in writing at info@meipn.org by midnight two days prior to workshop. Fee will be fully refunded less at $10 processing fee. Cancellations after that date are not refundable.

Cancellation Policy: MEIPN reserves the right to cancel the class due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event of a cancellation prior to the start of class a full refund, minus credit card fees, will be issued.
