Restore the Dunes, Meet the Birds: Dockweiler Beach Dunes Restoration and Bird Walk Event

Join The Bay Foundation in collaboration with Nature Nexus Institute and Los Angeles Audubon Society at the Dockweiler State Beach Dunes. This restoration event will establish a healthy living shoreline that will provide habitat for native plants and shorebirds, including the threatened Snowy Plover and endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly! After the Restoration join Nature Nexus Institute and LA Audubon for a short bird walk.

Site Location

We will meet working north of the State Lifeguard Operations. See the map for reference (Blue star) but meet at the northernmost Dockweiler Beach parking lot (red pin).


Check-in:

Kindly arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in. We will be meeting by the parking lot closest to the State Lifeguard Operations and walk over to the dune site.

Stay for a tour at 10:15am

After the restoration stay for short bird watch and beach ecology discussion
