2026 Financial Literacy For Educators Workshop (FLEW)

Prepare to teach high-school financial literacy courses by improving your financial literacy and building your confidence in making personal financial decisions. The workshops will provide the knowledge you need to teach the state-required high school financial literacy course that begins in 2028.

The program will be led by:
-Professor Brett Killion, University of Wisconsin-Madison
-Dr. Scott Niederjohn, Concordia University Wisconsin
-Dr. Mark Schug, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Attendance Includes:

·        Tundra Lodge Hotel room on the evenings of June 16 and 17

·        A copy of Teachers Can Be Financially Fit: Economist’s Advice to Educators

·        Teacher Toolkit for teaching high school financial literacy

·        A $100 Amazon gift card for your participation

·        A $50 Visa gift card to purchase financial literacy curriculum for your classroom

·        Breakfast and lunch during the workshop


HOTEL BOOKING INSTRUCTIONS 

To reserve a room under the "Concordia" block, please call the reservations desk at 1-877-886-3725. Phone reservations are required to receive the discounted rate and be included in the block. The deadline for calling is May 4th, after which unreserved rooms will be released. Late reservations may be accepted if available. When calling, mention the "Concordia" block and provide your credit card details, name, address, phone number, and email. Your credit card will only be charged for incidentals; Concordia will pay for your room provided you attend the full workshop.


A $80 fee is required to secure your seat. Full refund is available when you complete the workshop.
