AAGKC Workshop | Just Like You Films: Building Empathy through Storytelling

Join us for a dynamic accessibility workshop featuring Jen Greenstreet, Filmmaker and Founder of Just Like You Films, a Kansas City–based film company dedicated to building empathy and understanding through authentic disability storytelling. Through film excerpts, conversation, and real-world examples, participants will learn how disabled voices and lived experiences are shaping more inclusive creative practices.

The session will also introduce the Empathy Engine, a unique tool designed to help organizations move beyond awareness toward meaningful action. Together, we’ll explore common barriers faced by disabled artists and audiences and share practical strategies arts and culture organizations can implement right away to create more accessible, welcoming environments. This workshop is ideal for arts administrators, educators, and cultural leaders who are ready to deepen their commitment to disability inclusion and access.
