This course is designed to educate the law enforcement officer, detective, or civilian police legal employee, regarding the preparation, submission, and execution of Risk Protection Orders (RPO). The course will provide an understanding as to the RPO’s origin, as it relates to mass casualty incidents, explain the criteria to obtain the order, as well as the procedures following approval by the courts. The attendee will learn to investigate the incident and the individual, in order to build their case prior to petitioning the courts for the RPO. The course will also cover the proper serving of the order, to include searching the respondent’s residence and/or conveyance, obtaining a search warrant when necessary, and the application of specialized units to assist.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to rising costs and expenses generated by students who register for our courses and do not attend without notification, it has become necessary to institute the following policy:

In order to qualify for a full refund, students (or their employing agencies) must cancel no less than two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. Cancellations must be received via e-mail to the attention of the course coordinator. A confirmation of receipt and a cancellation number must be obtained from the coordinator. No claims will be accepted unless the aforementioned is adhered to. Cancellations made within the two week time period are subject to a $150 fee. Substitutions of students may be made at any time. Please call us immediately if you have any questions.

NOTE: NO-SHOWS AND THOSE WHO CANCEL AFTER 3PM ON THE THURSDAY PRRIOR TO THE COURSE WILL BE INVOICED THE FULL REGISTRATION FEE.
