2026 Great Willamette Cleanup – Oregon City: Sportcraft Landing to Willamette Falls (On Water)

On October 10th, volunteers across Oregon will unite for the Great Willamette Cleanup, with sites stretching from the river’s headwaters to its confluence with the Columbia. Pick the spot closest to your heart and Get Dirty for Good alongside neighbors, families, and fellow river lovers. Every bag of trash collected and every shoreline restored adds to a healthier, more resilient Willamette River.

Event Basics: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and eNRG Kayaking for an on-water trash cleanup below Willamette Falls as part of the 2026 Great Willamette Cleanup! Willamette Falls is a breathtaking and culturally important site, and it is our collective responsibility to keep this area free of harmful trash pollution. As a group, we will launch from Sportcraft Landing and paddle roughly a mile upstream towards the falls, collecting garbage along the way. Volunteers can either register for a seat in one of eNRG's canoes or bring along their own paddlecraft.

After the cleanup, we hope that you'll join us for a volunteer appreciation party at 1:30pm in Portland (location TBD), featuring drinks, light food, and a free raffle for all volunteers.

When & Where: Saturday, October 10th, 2026 | 9:30am - 12:30pm

Please meet at the eNRG offices on the Sportcraft Landing Marina, located at 1701 Clackamette Drive. Volunteer paddlecraft can be staged on the public launch at the marina (see map below for specifics). Trained cleanup leaders from AWL will be on site to check volunteers in, distribute cleanup supplies, and provide a group safety briefing before we get out on the water.

What to Bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you are comfortable getting dirty and wet.
  • Sunscreen, drinking water, and layers that are appropriate for the weather.

Additional Details:

  • Willamette Riverkeeper and our partners will provide all necessary cleanup equipment and PPE for this event (trash bags, gloves, grabbers, etc).
  • No previous cleanup experience is necessary to volunteer for this event – we will conduct a thorough safety briefing and cleanup training at the start of the day.
  • Children ages 14+ are welcome to participate in this event if accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian.
