We are excited to offer an exclusive opportunity for one-on-one sessions with Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Edwina Richardson during our Youth Conference.

In 2017, Judge Richardson was appointed to lead the New York State Unified Court System's Office for Justice Initiatives, where she has been instrumental in ensuring meaningful access to justice for all New Yorkers. Her office administers various services, including Help Centers, self-help resources, and pro bono programs to assist unrepresented court users.

Judge Richardson oversees several crucial youth and family justice initiatives, such as the Child Welfare Court Improvement Project and the implementation of the law raising the age of criminal responsibility in New York. She also manages over 300 problem-solving and accountability courts across the state, which include opioid courts, veterans' treatment courts, and human trafficking intervention courts.

In addition to her administrative roles, Judge Richardson serves on the Court of Claims and in the Supreme Court Criminal Term in New York County. She has a distinguished career that began as a Court Attorney-Referee in Queens County Family Court, followed by her tenure as a Family Court Judge and later as the Administrative Judge of all New York City Family Courts.

Judge Richardson holds a J.D. from CUNY Law School and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from the City University of New York Graduate Center. She is also an adjunct professor and active member of various bar associations and court committees.
