Speakers

Ryan Jackson is a National Electrical Code® instructor and textbook author in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area. He is also a technical consultant for the Steel Tube Institute. He is a member of Code-Making Panels 3 and 17 for the National Electrical Code and serves on several Technical Committees for UL. He is certified as an inspector in the electrical, building, mechanical, and plumbing codes, and has taught the NEC® and NFPA 70E® at the national level over the last three decades.

Dan Neeser is a senior field application engineer for Eaton’s Bussmann series solutions. He provides technical assistance to consulting engineers, OEMs, electrical contractors, industrials and electrical inspectors. He has been with Eaton (Cutler-Hammer and Bussmann) since 1993 and specializes in training on the design and application of overcurrent protective devices and equipment in electrical distribution systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code® and equipment in accordance with the various product standards.

Chris Strange has been with Generac Power Systems since April of 2023 as a Technical Application Manager with the Consumer Power Division. His role is responsible for training inspectors, installers, and Generac dealers on the installation process of Generac Home Standby generators to ensure they are installed in a safe and reliable manner. Chris began his electrical career in 2006 in the US Air Force as an Electrician maintaining critical base infrastructure in Alaska, New Jersey and overseas in the Middle East. He attended Moraine Park Technical College where he received a Technical Degree in Electrical Systems and started working as a Commercial Electrician in Southeastern Wisconsin. During his career as an Electrician, Chris worked in both the commercial and residential environments where he has gathered most of his knowledge of Generac Optional Standby Systems. He is a licensed Master Electrician, Commercial and Residential Electrical Inspector in the State of Wisconsin, and an active member of the Wisconsin IAEI Chapter.

NEMA Midwest Technical Field Representative, Brian Baughman was hired in March 2023 and has over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry. Brian currently holds a Wisconsin State Master Electrician License, Wisconsin State Commercial Electrical Inspector Certification, and Wisconsin State UDC-Electrical Inspector Certification. Prior to his tenure at NEMA, Brian was the Technical Applications Manager for Generac Power Systems Clean Energy Division and served as a committee member on NFPA 37, NFPA 70 (CMP-4), NFPA 78, NFPA 420, NFPA 1078, and the NFPA Professional Qualifications Correlating Committee. He is an industry recognized expert on energy storage systems, on-site power production sources, distributed energy resources, and advanced electrification technologies. Brian is a member of the IAEI, ICC, and NFPA and represents NEMA as an alternate on NFPA 70 CMP-4 and NFPA 70B.
