| Begin Advent in the stillness of the morning, awaiting the Light of Christ.
The Rorate Caeli Mass is a beautiful, ancient Advent tradition: a Mass celebrated in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the quiet hours before dawn, illuminated only by candlelight.
Its name comes from the opening words of Isaiah 45:8, Rorate caeli desuper - "Drop down dew, ye heavens." Gathered in the darkness, we enter into the longing of Advent, waiting with Mary for the coming of Christ, the Light of the World.
As Mass unfolds and dawn begins to break, the chapel is gradually filled with light, a beautiful reminder that Christ enters the darkness of our world and brings with Him the light that no darkness can overcome.
The men are invited to begin Advent in prayer, placing themselves alongside St. Joseph and Our Lady as they prepare their hearts for the birth of Christ.
Mass will be followed by refreshments in the Rotunda. We invite you to join us for this beautiful liturgy and tradition!
