DESCRIPTION:Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT have partnered to deliver the Portal North Bridge Project\, a key element of the Gateway Program between Newark Penn Station and New York Penn Station. This project replaces the century-old existing swing bridge with a new high-level fixed structure while increasing resiliency\, improving rail operations and enhancing capacity over the Hackensack River in Hudson County\, New Jersey. This presentation provides a project overview\, an update as to the current construction status\, and discusses the lessons learned and technical challenges associated with this project.
