Have you been thinking about jumping into the job market or applying for a promotion in your current organization? If you have, or even if you haven’t, it is important to have a professional-looking, up-to-date resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Isn’t a resume easy to throw together whenever you might need one, you might ask. Well, the answer is sure, but is it the right one to get noticed by a prospective employer? And, when it comes to a CV, it is nearly impossible to create one at the last minute, at least one that truly reflects your work history.

Having a professional resume or CV that is tailored to the library jobs you are applying for is important. It is not hard to put together but requires some thought and preparation. There are key elements you always need to include and other items that are good to include early in your career, but need to be dropped off as you progress.

In this three-hour in-person workshop, we will help you design your own basic resume or CV that you can use for years as a template for any future needs. You will learn the difference between a resume and a CV, the basic elements, what is important in the library job application market and what is better left off. You will have an opportunity to share your current resume or CV for feedback and work on your new template.
