“The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans” event in the fan zone:

SciAps partners with “The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans” and all her readers for this SciAps 200 Recycling event in the Fan Zone at New Hampshire Motor Speedway! Aluminum cans are 100% recyclable, but less than half make it to recyclers. Recycling cans keeps reusable material from wasting away in landfills and saves on energy consumption. It takes 95% less ENERGY to make a can out of recycled cans, and the turnaround time is quick—only 60-90 days until a recycled can is back on the shelf. In the SciAps footprint of the fan zone, we will have a recycling bin donated by Harding Metals for aluminum cans. All proceeds will go to the Northwood School. We will have can-drop hours on Friday from 12pm-5pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-3pm. People donating cans will be able to enter a raffle for a $100 gift card. Each day, we will select 5 winners (that’s 15 people in total). We will have bags available for people to take with them to their campers or the stands to gather cans. Our golf cart will collect cans in the camping areas.
