Be a part of growing the forests of tomorrow and join the Riverine Master Naturalists, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Forestry, for a morning of acorn collection. You will learn how to identify specific acorn species from the oak trees of Hollywood Cemetery and collect them to be planted at the August Nursery in Crimora, Virginia. The seedlings produced are later sold to landowners, typically to reforest open lands. This is a great activity for adults and children alike and provides an opportunity to learn more about the trees of Hollywood Cemetery! |
