Presentation Overview:

Join us as we discuss frequently missed state and local incentives, grants and tax credits for your business. We will also explore the most favorable states for new facility build or business expansion.


CPE is available for FEI members. Upon arrival, please sign in AND out at the registration table.


The Connection Session:

We’re excited to host the structured networking session again this year. Join us before the main program begins for an intentional networking experience designed to help attendees build meaningful connections. Upon arrival, guests will be seated at assigned tables, where discussion starters and ice-breaker prompts will kick off the conversation. You’ll have the opportunity take part in purposeful dialogue and leave with new relationships and insights.

Outside guests are qualified financial leaders interested in potential FEI membership (click to view FEI membership criteria). Prospective members are allowed to attend two events complimentary prior to membership acceptance.

Paid registration only available for a co-worker of a current FEI Member. They do not need to meet membership requirements but should be employed by the same member company. Not applicable for Strategic Partners.

 

Featured Speakers

Eric Levenhagen, Senior Manager, National Business Credits & Incentives at RSM


Eric brings more than 22 years of economic development experience to his role as a senior leader with the firm’s state and local tax practice. He consults with clients on expansion plans to help identify and secure available credits and incentives. He finds additional value add in special zones, such as Federal Empowerment Zone tax credits and state Enterprise Zones. He alerts companies to new programs, such as the Indiana Manufacturing Readiness Grant that he has guided 80 companies to $7 million in cash grants out of $35 million that state has issued. Eric continues to serve as the firm’s subject matter expert on the Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) program. He serves a broad range of industry sectors including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and service companies. 


Prior to joining RSM, Eric was a senior project manager for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) Business Development team. During his seven years at the IEDC, he helped secure approximately 10,000 new job commitments on over 80 project acceptances.


John Davitt, Tax Partner at RSM


John is a partner in RSM’s tax service practice and serves as the local tax connector for the Madison, Wisconsin office. John has experience providing tax compliance, consulting and provision services to corporations and partnerships.


Today, John provides tax compliance services to both closely held and private equity backed corporations and partnerships. Focused on serving companies in the industrial, consumer products and technology industries, John specializes in assisting companies in strategic tax planning, compliance and utilization of tax credits and incentives. John also serves as a member of RSM’s National Tech Leadership team.


John has also served as a member of RSM’s Washington National Tax group to develop technical resources and guidance related to emerging tax incentives and planning opportunities. He has also spent time as a member of RSM’s National Credits, Incentives & Methods team and regularly assists clients with research and development tax credits claims and audit defense. John is a subject matter expert and firm leader in the employee retention tax credit and related CARES Act incentives.
