Telling Lives, Living Histories - Roxbury Oral History Project

This intergenerational oral history project, led by TWC co-founder Dr. Karen Craddock, features the pairing of local young adults with Black seniors to capture stories and reflections between them. The project presents and preserves often untold or undocumented regional histories from personal lived experiences that deepen and enhance an understanding of Boston history at this time of rapid change.

Please join us for a video presentation featuring clips and highlights from the heartfelt intergenerational conversations captured during the pilot phase of this evolving oral history project.

In collaboration with partners at the Boston Public Library, we are actively developing a long-term archiving plan to ensure the complete collection is preserved and made publicly accessible. Multimedia selections will also be shared through our community partner platforms and preserved through a national digital archiving initiative in partnership with AFRO Publishing Without Walls.

We are grateful for funding from Mass Humanities, which made this pilot project possible.
