Integrating Sand Tray in Play Therapy: Level 1 

Sand tray play therapy is a powerful method in treating children and adults. This workshop will explore the fundamental theory, skills, tools, and methods of sand tray play therapy for children and adults. Hands-on experiences allow participants to explore the various elements of the sand tray process. Through building and witnessing individual sand tray worlds, participants will be able to develop and practice basic skills for incorporating sand tray play therapy into their practice. 

In this training, practitioners will develop the basic skills for using sand tray play therapy with both children and adults and will explore the various elements of the sand tray process through hands-on exercises with miniatures and sand trays.

Objectives

• Explain historical and theoretical perspectives on sand tray play therapy.
• List guiding principles for the practice of sand tray play therapy.
• Describe the dynamics of figures and symbols in the sand tray process.
• List the basic methods and skills of sand tray play therapy.
• Articulate 3 sand tray interventions that can be used in sessions with children and adults.
• Identify ways to begin incorporating sand tray play therapy into their own practice.

Date and Time: June 16th, 2025. 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Cost: $150 (Or Get a Package - Level 1 & Level 2 (11/17/2025) Sand Tray Trainings for $200 - Total of 12 APT CEs).

This will be a LIVE, in-person workshop. Participants must attend the entire presentation and will be awarded LIVE CONTACT APT CE's upon successful completion of a post test. Approved by APT for 6 LIVE CONTACT APT CE Hours & Florida LMHC, LMFT & LCSW CEU's.

Workshop Cancellation and Refund Policy 

• All cancellations must be made at least 10 days prior to the scheduled workshop. Registered participants who provide proper notice (10 days or more) will be credited, minus a 25% workshop fee. For registered participants who cancel less than 10 days prior to the workshops, credit towards a future workshop will be provided. This credit must be used within 1 year of the original workshop date (no cash refunds). The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop (in which they are registered) at any time at no charge.
