This hands-on class introduces students to nerikomi, a decorative handbuilding technique using layered and patterned colored clay. Students will learn how to build and slice patterned clay blocks and apply them to a simple slab-built form, resulting in a one-of-a-kind functional piece. The class is beginner-friendly and open to all experience levels.
This session will feature my March palette, Stone Thaw — soft mineral tones inspired by late winter thaw, including celadon, jade green, smoky gray, wedgwood blue, and blackberry wine, balanced with natural white.
