DESCRIPTION:

When couples haven’t had sex in a long time, they often feel hopeless and therapists often feel unsure how to help. This presentation is a deep dive into the conscious and unconscious reasons for no-sex relationships including low sexual desire, desire discrepancy, and lost sexual attraction. It will utilize a narrative relational approach that integrates psychodynamic and systems thinking.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Based on the content of this course, participants will be able to:


1. Describe differences between sexual desire and sexual attraction.

2. Describe how to identify and transform conscious and unconscious narratives that negatively impact sexual connection. 


Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapy Group (PCPG) is approved by the California Psychological Association (CPA) to provide continuing professional education for psychologists. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts continuing education credit granted by CPA or by any of its Approved Providers for its licensees. Suzanne Iasenza, Ph.D., is on the faculties of the Adelphi University Derner Institute’s Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalysis and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP), where she is Co-Founder of the Sex Therapy Training Program (STP). She also teaches at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, and the Family Institute of Westchester. She maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and sex therapy in New York. Her latest book, Transforming Sexual Narratives: A Relational Approach to Sex Therapy, recently received an award for exceptional merit from the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.

PRICING INFORMATION:


Prices range from $25 for Students/Pre-Licensed individuals to $80 for General Public.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY:

Registrants who cancel prior to May 16th will receive a refund minus a $15 administrative charge.

No refunds will be allowed after May 16th. Transfer of registrations is not allowed.
