Greenway Walking Tour Guide - Tom Russell Tom is the Urban Infrastructure Program Manager with the City of Charlotte. Tom is a seasoned program manager responsible for managing very diverse high profile complex programs that include the Cross Charlotte Trail, Northeast Corridor Infrastructure, and Applied Innovation Corridor. These programs include very challenging projects for the City of Charlotte budgeted up to $259 million. Tom enjoys sharing his 28 years of Engineering experience to coach his team of project and senior project managers to accelerate the advancement of city projects through all the obstacles, challenges, and issues. Tom has been successful in leading these projects to completion by developing positive relationships with staff, customers, the public, and outside agencies for the City of Charlotte. Tom has worked on very notable projects that included Charlottes First Roundabout, Charlotte’s first streetcar tracks, Charlotte Liberty Walk, Charlotte’s First Reverse Angle Parking, Charlotte’s First Greenroads Certified Project, and numerous projects that include transportation road widenings, intersection, business corridor, safety, uptown sidewalk, transit, and greenway projects. Prior to working 25 years at the City of Charlotte, Tom spent 3 years working for Zapata Engineering and HDR Engineering as a consultant. Tom is the proud Father of his two daughters Emma 14 and Abby Russell 12. |
