Day 1: Risk Management is often seen as a complex and elusive concept, yet it’s a crucial aspect of every healthcare practice. In a profession that’s hands-on and patient-centered, the potential for misunderstandings and issues to arise is high. This 4-hour session, led by TOOLS OF PRACTICE Co-Founders and Certified Professional Compliance Officers, Dr. Mark Davini and Paul Andrews, will provide a solid foundation for understanding and managing the risks associated with today’s healthcare environment. The session will cover key strategies for preparing yourself, your associates, and your staff to identify, address, and mitigate potential risks in practice. This course is highly recommended as a precursor to the enriching learning experience of Risk Management Part 2 on Saturday, March 15th
Day 2: Step into the role of a State Board of Registration member for the day! This unique, interactive course will guide you through the process of handling complaints and understanding the procedures followed by a State Board of Registration when a complaint is filed. Participants will listen to a case involving inappropriate touch presented by seasoned attorneys who specialize in defending licensees, after which they will take on the responsibility of deciding the outcome. As a "board member," you'll determine whether the licensee is in violation of state laws and regulations, and if so, decide on appropriate sanctions. To wrap up the session, the presenters will highlight key factors that could have helped the licensee in their case, providing valuable insights into the decision-making process. This hands-on, immersive experience will offer a deeper understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding healthcare practice.
