Join us for a walking tour of historic and new murals in Southwest Detroit. Vito Valdez, long-term resident and local mural expert, will lead the event along with George Vargas, founding member of La Raza Art and Media Collective and active artist and organizer in the public mural projects nationwide. Buses will take participants from UMMA to Detroit for this day-long event. Highlights will include CitySpirit, a mural created by George Vargas and Martin Moreno in 1978 and the Legends graffiti wall of Vernor Highway. |
