Saying "I Do" Through the Years

Hearthside's exhibit examines the history of weddings throughout 150 years, between 1850-2000. What did brides wear for their big day? How did the couple document their wedding with photographs? What about the receptions afterwards? Where were typical honeymoon destinations? What were some of the traditions, some driven by heritage and some by superstitions, that have been practiced over hundreds of years?

See examples of fashions from each decade while also learning how weddings have evolved through history in this most interesting and enjoyable exhibit that takes place in each room of the museum. Tours are self-guided with docents available. Staggered admissions to avoid crowding.
