Sam's Garden Garden One

I have a few areas I’m working on: a micro prairie with bluestem, solidago, ironweed, rattlesnake master, elderberry, and much more.

A bed with pawpaws, wild blue indigo, and more.

Foundation beds with bushes like button bush, St. John’s wort, beauty berry, oak leaf hydrangea, and Forbes like coneflower, yarrow, coreopsis, prairie onion, rudbeckia.

Fence strip of aggressive plants like Maximillian sunflower, common milkweed, mountain mint.

Most things are quite young, in their first or second year. I also have a rain barrel gravity drip irrigation system that I think people might be interested to see. Please come join me in my Landscape in Progress.

Tara's Garden Garden Two

Our house is situated on five acres and sits beside the Tennessee River. In 2020, I worked with a permaculture company to assist in laying out a garden space and have the perimeter of native plants. It has since grown! In the last two years, we’ve removed most of the builder’s plants and have solarized spaces to plant natives. It is still in the filling in and growing stage. Since that section, we have decided to fill in with some trees and solarize another section. So we always seem to have a work in progress.

We also co-own a section of property with some neighbors and we are all working with Southeastern Grassland Institute to make this into a native space for the pollinators and wildlife.
