"From Vocation to Profession: Developing Identity, Vision, and Accountability in the Practice of Health Care" with D. Micah Hester, Ph.D.

Dr. Hester chairs the Department Medical Humanities & Bioethics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine and is a clinical/research ethicist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He has authored extensively on patient-professional relationships, end-of-life care, pediatric ethics, and the education of healthcare ethics committees. He produces scholarly research in these areas and serves on local and national committees.

Named for Martin Greenberg, M.D., and Stephen Williams, M.D., the Greenberg-Williams Lectureship features leading figures in the bioethics and medical humanities nationally with a special emphasis on health care for rural and underserved populations. Topics include not only bioethical issues but also the arts, literature and religion as they apply to an understanding of medicine, illness and human well-being.
