Join us for an in-person Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program focused on Colorado’s evolving medical liability landscape and practical defense strategies in the era of the Health Care Availability Act as settled law. The program will open with brief historical context and then move into a moderated panel discussion with Q&A, exploring how defense counsel and carriers can protect clients, mitigate risk, and respond effectively to emerging plaintiff strategies. Panelists will discuss what has proven successful, what has been less effective than expected, how pretrial tools such as anchoring, paid research and focus groups, and artificial intelligence may be used on both sides of litigation, and how to prepare witnesses for tactics commonly used by the plaintiff’s bar. The discussion will also examine the impact of private equity in the practice of law, social inflation and nuclear verdicts, key risk characteristics that may drive high-exposure cases, and the importance of early dialogue between carriers and defense teams.
The formal program will adjourn at 4:30 p.m., followed by conversation and happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
