Chippewa Savannas Chapter Prescribed Burn Training

This is basic crew member training for anyone who wants to volunteer on local chapter burns, or who is just interested in learning more about prescribed burns. Completion of this training (classroom and field) qualifies you as an Apprentice on our burn crew. Apprentices will become Crew Members after participating in two prescribed burns. Chapter experts will cover the basics of fire ecology, behavior and management. There will be hands-on experience with tools, which you will use to ignite and extinguish a grass fire (weather permitting).
