National Prevention Summit 2025

Join us for the 12th Annual National Prevention Summit, brought to you by Drug Free America Foundation Inc. in collaboration with the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance.

Our primary objective is to raise awareness about the profound impact of substance use while equipping attendees with knowledge on reducing access, reshaping social norms, and stimulating conversations on current drug policies. The summit will concentrate on the effective implementation of prevention and recovery strategies and will provide communities with the tools needed to advocate for sound drug policies.

Impacts of Marijuana Use Track:

The Impacts of Marijuana Use track will explore the multifaceted consequences of marijuana use, particularly focusing on its health, social, and economic effects. Experts will discuss the latest research on marijuana’s impact on mental and physical health, its influence on youth development, and its implications for public safety, including drugged driving. The track will also address policy challenges and provide insights into effective prevention strategies to counteract the growing normalization of marijuana use, especially among vulnerable populations.

Recovery Track:

The Recovery will spotlight the journey of individuals and families overcoming substance use disorders, highlighting the power of resilience, community support, and effective interventions. Sessions will delve into best practices for enhancing recovery support services, building recovery-ready communities, and addressing stigma. This track will also emphasize the importance of celebrating recovery stories, showcasing innovative recovery programs, and exploring how policy and advocacy efforts can strengthen the recovery movement nationwide.

Drug Demand Reduction: Diverse Perspectives Track:

This track will encompass a variety of critical topics in the field of drug demand reduction, offering a comprehensive look at the latest challenges and innovative solutions. Sessions will address emerging drug trends, effective prevention strategies, and the intersection of substance use with mental health and social determinants. This track aims to provide a platform for diverse perspectives, fostering dialogue on best practices, policy implications, and collaborative approaches to reducing the demand for drugs worldwide.


The Fentanyl Project: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Join us Monday evening after the networking reception for a special screening of The Fentanyl Project. This powerful documentary highlights America’s growing opioid crisis and the urgent need for awareness.


Following the film, Dan Zsido, Drug Free America Foundation Board Member, will moderate a compelling panel featuring: KT Curran, Executive Director, Wingspan Productions, The Fentanyl Project; Nannette Cobb, Nicolette's mother - forever 24; and Sean Fearns, DEA Community Outreach and Prevention Support.
