COMPOUND FLOODING VIRTUAL CONVENING

THE STATE OF SCIENTIFIC AND ENGINEERING RESEARCH AND PRACTICE

With a particular emphasis on the New York-New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries Region

Thursday, October 29th | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET

This virtual convening aims to bring together leading scientists and researchers with engaged partners to gain a common understanding of available and emerging science, research, and applied practice on compound flooding to inform total flood hazard analyses and design in the New York-New Jersey Harbor and Tributaries Region and beyond.

Key topics this convening seeks to address:

  • Understanding the available science/research for specific drivers of compound flooding;
  • The range of tools and methods available to evaluate compound flooding; and
  • The relative importance of flood drivers in the development of engineering solutions for the region.
